Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website at https://www.shanieltailor.com and your relationship with Shaniel Bespoke Tailor, operated by Richard (Rustam) ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Nature of Bespoke Tailoring

All garments produced by Shaniel Bespoke Tailor are made to order, crafted to your personal measurements and specifications. This means:

  • Every garment is unique and made exclusively for you.
  • Production cannot begin until your measurements, style choices, and fabric selection are confirmed.
  • Once production has commenced (typically within 48 hours of order confirmation), significant style changes or fabric substitutions cannot be made.
  • Bespoke garments are non-refundable except in cases of material manufacturing defect.

2. Placing an Order

Orders may be placed:

  • Online via our website order form
  • By email to shanieltailor@gmail.com
  • In person at our Hong Kong studio
  • During an overseas city tour appointment

An order is confirmed when we send you a written confirmation email with your order reference number. We reserve the right to decline orders at our discretion.

3. Pricing

All prices are quoted in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice but the price confirmed at the time of your order will be honoured. Prices include the cost of crafting your garment and basic packaging. Shipping is additional unless specifically stated as included.

For international clients, currency conversion rates are subject to change. We recommend confirming the HKD price before finalising your order.

4. Payment Terms

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Full Payment: Payment in full at time of order confirmation.
  • 50% Deposit: A 50% deposit to confirm your order, with the remaining 50% due before dispatch. If the balance is not paid within 30 days of being invoiced, we reserve the right to cancel the order without refund of deposit.
  • Bank Transfer (TT): Available for orders over HK$10,000. Details provided upon request.
  • PayPal: Available to all international clients.
  • Credit/Debit Card: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express accepted.

5. Measurements

The accuracy of your measurements is your responsibility when ordering remotely. We provide a comprehensive measurement guide to assist you. We recommend having your measurements taken by a professional tailor or having a helper assist you.

We include 2 complimentary alterations with every garment specifically to address any minor measurement inaccuracies. Alterations outside of these 2 inclusions, or alterations required due to significant measurement errors, may be charged at our standard alteration rates.

For returning clients, we use measurements on file subject to your confirmation that your size has not changed since the last order.

6. Production & Delivery

Standard production and delivery times are 4–6 weeks from order confirmation. This includes production time in Hong Kong and international shipping. Times may vary depending on the complexity of the order and seasonal demand.

Rush production may be available for an additional charge. Contact us before placing your order if you have a specific deadline.

All garments are shipped by tracked international courier. A tracking number will be provided by email when your parcel is dispatched. Delivery times vary by destination but typically take 3–7 business days from dispatch.

Risk of loss passes to you upon handover to the courier. We insure all shipments but you must inform us within 14 days of the expected delivery date if your parcel has not arrived.

7. Import Duties & Taxes

International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees charged by your country's customs authority. These charges are entirely your responsibility and are not included in our prices or shipping charges. We cannot predict or control these charges. Please check with your local customs authority before placing an order if you have concerns about import costs.

8. Alterations Policy

Every Shaniel garment includes 2 complimentary alterations:

  • Alterations must be requested within 90 days of receiving your garment.
  • To request an alteration, email us at shanieltailor@gmail.com with photos and a description of the adjustment needed.
  • We will advise whether the garment should be returned to Hong Kong or whether local alterations are more practical.
  • Return shipping for alterations is at the client's expense. We cover return shipping to you.
  • Alterations do not apply to changes in style or fabric — only to fit adjustments.

9. Returns & Refunds

As bespoke garments are made to your individual specifications, we do not accept returns or provide refunds except in the following circumstances:

  • Manufacturing Defect: If your garment has a material manufacturing defect (not related to measurement inaccuracy), we will remake or repair the garment at no cost.
  • Wrong Fabric: If we use a different fabric than you ordered, we will remake the garment using the correct fabric.
  • Significant Departure from Style: If the garment significantly departs from the agreed style specifications, we will make it right.

Any refund claims must be made within 14 days of receiving your garment with photographic evidence. We reserve the right to request the garment be returned for inspection.

We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong SAR.
